Lost
The light was lovely this evening. I thought I would take a new route home - via Colinton and then by Mortonhall, partly to see if the highland cows were being picturesque.
The last leg home should have been straight-forward. But I took a wrong turn, and then a second wrong turn. The track turned into a path, and the path became less distinct and then disappeared. And the trees became thicker, and the ground became less cycle-able. I became about as lost as I could.
The wedge of wood I had found myself in ran out and I was left with the choice of retracing my tracks or going via a golf course. I opted for the golf course and, having scared three young deer and possibly a couple of golfers, made it back to the road.
It was brilliant.
