Workshop materials
I had to carry all this stuff to Cambridge (and a lot of it back again, though most of the chocolates were consumed in the process!). I really could do with one of those trolleys on wheels you can get for when I'm delivering training. Things I needed to pack this time included:
- Portable flip chart, with some pre-prepared sheets - not at all waterproof so have to hope it doesn't rain
- Pens for flip chart - two packets just in case I need lots
- Post-its - as many as I could fit, you can never have too many post-it notes for workshops
- Fineliner pens - for writing on post-its
- Stickers - precursors into strips of 10, for one of the activities
- Agree/disagree sheets - for another activity
- Workbook for reference - fortunately ones for attendees were printed by the venue
- iPad - which has the presentation on
- iPad connector to link to projector
- USB backup with multiple versions of the presentation on - just in case!
- Sheet with timings on - this is one of the most crucial things for me as I always try to keep to time
- Chocolates - probably the most important thing from the attendees perspective! I used chocolates as the theme of the session and integrated them into most of the activities.
Add to that personal items such as phone, purse, headphones, travel card and ticket, magazine, and knitting (it's a looooong time on the train for the journey to Cambridge and back), and you have quite a heavy bag. I walked miles with it all too, certainly made up for the lack of exercise DVD today!
