Sinterklaas underneath the Christmas tree

The good old fellow got on his horse and left the country a week ago, back to Spain, but we celebrated today. In the Netherlands tradition is that kids get presents with Sinterklaas, rather than with Christmas. Actually Christmas is not as popular as Sinterklaas here. No kids today (all are around thirty), but today we exchanged presents with about 15 friends. It was a superb day, really enjoyed it. The only thing about it is that tradition also seems to dictate that the presents should be total crap. Well, it's the thought that counts I guess.

This detail of our Christmas tree we bought yesterday is a bit of an emergency blip actually.

We went for a walk this morning in a beautiful area with fantastic light. But at my first attempt of a 5-star photo my camera told me that the memory card was still in my laptop... Bummer... That's the other side of Blip I guess: it's pretty hard to still enjoy a great walk if you see missed blipping opportunity on each corner...

Changed my entry; didn't like the other. Don't like this one either... Tomorrow is a new day...
