Post Operative WeaselPig

Poor Weasel may have been small, but she wasn't technically perfectly formed.

As she grew, it became evident that both of her front legs were growing at an unusual angle. The ulna bones of her forearms had stopped growing too soon, causing the radial bones next door to bow and become deformed.

The only way to prevent this getting worse was to perform a procedure called an 'ulnar osteotomy'. Basically, a section is cut from the ulna to allow the leg to grow more normally and without restriction.

This happened today, performed by super-surgeon Noel Fitzpatrick at his referral centre in Surrey. She'll be home tomorrow and we can't wait to have her back!
