Bannockburn
In spite of having lived in the village of Banockburn many years ago, today was the first time I had had been to the Bannockburn National Heritage Centre. Bannockburn is the site of a major battle in 1314, in which the mainly Scottish forces led by Robert the Bruce defeated the mainly English forces of King Edward.
The Bannockburn Heritage Centre has an impresive 3D video display, an an enjoyable game where visitors to the centre can try to re-fight the battle, and see which side wins.
Outside, there is a rotunda memorial and a status of Bruce.
What caught my eye for this picture was a timeline, with the saltire flag fluttering in the background.
All in all, an enjoyable couple of hours out.
