It's a tough life being a statue
Poor old David Hume. He sits there quietly outside the High Court in the Royal Mile and he's never left alone. A large number of people rub his right big toe for good luck; whether to do with an appearance in the dock or just to be lucky in life, who knows. Then, late at night lads / ladettes think it's amusing to give him a hat. I think it suits him. Good job he was a philosopher and can be sanguine about his lot.
