Canal in Amsterdam

I captured this (view it large) from a tram in the late morning. We were on the way to the Resistance Museum on the years 1940 to 1945 in Holland, under the German occupation. It is wonderfully organized and displayed, presenting an extensive picture of how Dutch society as a whole adapted and how the situation evolved as time went by. Numerous high school students were there as well, on at least one tour.

In the afternoon we went to the Rembrandt House nearby, where the artist lived from 1639 to 1659. It was excellent, with a display of paintings by him and other artists, as well as many of his etchings (a technique in which he was a leading master). The was also a temporary exhibition of drawings by Rembrandt and closely associated artists, focusing on the subtleties of determining who did which work.
