Where the strike took us...

So, today we trekked into Edinburgh, loaded up the parking meter & tripped off merrily to go check out the Mammoths exhibition at the National Museum of Scotland.

The museum was closed cos the staff were on strike. After some hurumphing & then rustling up some comradeship-like thoughts for fellow PCS members (pah), we headed in search of alternative, child friendly amusements.

We actually wanted the Toy Museum but took the wrong turn on the Royal Mile & ended up at the Museum of Edinburgh which was awful sweet. It had a super kids room with a rather nice mural. Have walked past this place loads, but never gone in.

So, my thanks to the NMS staff. You forced us to go somewhere new. And, on the way back to the car, we also had a look at the weaving in the Doo'cot. So all in all not so disappointing ...
