Old habits
Some time in the past, trees were the normal night time roosting place for chickens.
The good weather & longer hours is bringing out this instinct again. After the late afternoon feed, the Chabos (Japs) hop on the tree, do a bit of preening and take a nap but then as dusk comes, they go inside on their own accord. In the winter they don't do this.
Not a good day for me - have been sleeping badly the last nights and today really felt washed out. Hung around getting nothing done in the morning and then went to bed at midday until early evening. The Blip is courtesy of Angie who had to do all the work alone.
In the evening I managed to phone Luna's first owners, Steffi & Oliver in Berlin. During the 2 hour call mentioned Flash was acting a bit strange but only afterwards did I hear from Angie that he had had problems keeping up on the morning walk/ride and in the afternoon didn't want to walk/play at all. During the 2 hour call, he had not moved from a place he normally would never lie down in the evening.
He clearly was not well, seemed very bloated and occasionally letting off "air".
I picked him up and carried him out, hoping he might do his business. He could hardly stand and when he did try to move his front foot literally stuck in the air . Both Angie & I were convinced he had Lyme disease from the large numbers of ticks he has had the last weeks.
Angie did try some calling/resaerch in to emergency services (our normal vet doesn't have one and it was 23:00). In the end we thought we would wait until Friday morning.
More to follow..........
