Cows and hills in the Coromandel

The rugged landscapes in the Coromandel Peninsular were fantastic. Volcano plugs were covered in lush vegetation - beautiful tree ferns and toi toi flags everywhere. Now we are back in Auckland and going to listen to Billy Connolly tonight!

Have been over some of the twistiest roads in the world - am told the early government surveyors insisted on extra pay for every corner as they required more work and thus more bends were made than necessary - easy money!
