GOOD-BYE. MY SWEET ANGEL. GOOD-BYE.
I step into the dimly lit room.
Softly beeping machines - the only sound.
As I move closer, your nurses step aside.
So many cords attached to your little body.
“I love you, my little Lassie Girl,” I whisper.
Stroking your soft furry head,
“Daddy, Mommy and Baby Starbuck, We’ll all miss you terribly.”
I lean forward to kiss your muzzle,
“Nobody could ask for a better Photo Buddy or friend.”
Shaking off the oxygen mask.
You raise your head,
Treating me with those sincere brown eyes I love.
What effort it took for you to say good-bye,
What a gift.
My beloved Tabasco,
Just 10 years old.
Taken too soon
By ruptured gallbladder
I am so very, very sad.
