Late Into Leaf

I knew when I picked my one year one tree tree that I would be May before it leafed because it's an Ash and that's what Ashes do.

However, I thought I'd better go and check. Although I was right, I thought I'd snap one of the buds. It was only on doing so that I realised that Ash trees have these tiny purple fruit like buds. Every day a school day.

I could have cheated by the way and snapped any old Ash. But I didn't, this is 'The Tree'.
