2000 feuilles

What comes after a mile feuille ?
The 2000 feuilles !

Just by chance we passed a Pierre Hermé shop today and went in. No wonder he received the name as "the Picasso of pastry" when looking at the chocolate, macarons and pastry art in the shop. So we left with two 2000 mille feuilles and then headed home to eat them. On the website the description is:
2000 feuilles presents a harmony of textures: caramelized puff pastry and crushed hazelnuts contrast with the creaminess of its praline mousseline cream. Thin pieces of Britanny-style crêpe dentelle biscuit provide the crispy layered texture. Wonderfully flavourful.

I can fully agree. The size of the pastry was enormous and finally replaced our lunch. Next time we'll share one ... having half of it is then exactly a 1000 feuille !
