Everything Is Going To Be Alright.
How brilliant is this? I love it (the sign I hasten to add not the photograph which is a bit squint!)
So very comforting. Maybe everything really will be alright :)
I've spotted it a few times recently when going past in a bus or taxi and just thought Wow! I have to snap that!, but not had the opportunity to stop. So when I was at the retail park at Craigleith earlier today I made a point to walk back along to the Gallery.
Unfortunately my shaky hands meant that I had to balance my titchy camera on the wall outside - hence the reason for the slanted angle!
If I get the chance I'll have to go back and take it in daytime, theres another cool one across the road at the Dean too, but it was a bit far away for me to get a clear picture.
Have had a really lovely day today :o) A friend popped round this morning for coffee (provided by TeaTree of course!) and chats which was very nice indeed :)
And I had a most enjoyable wander about this afternoon trying to take pictures in the dark, lol, it didn't really work but nevermind!
Pretty shattered now of course but its all good - cuppa tea, bit of telly and an early night I think.
ps. FINALLY found a pair of jeans that fit properly!! And they were on sale :O)
Heres what its all about :
Everything Is Going To Be Alright
A new commission by the Scottish Turner prize winning artist Martin Creed has been installed on the front of the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. The striking blue neon text entitled, Work No. 975 EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE ALRIGHT, is positioned along the length of the frieze on the front of the Gallery. The work is on show as part of What you see is where you?re at, a total re-hang of the gallery to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its founding, which opens to the public on the 28th November.
