Bake Sale

1pm in the afternoon on bake sale day and it is no surprise that most of the offerings have already been demolished!
There are only four of my gingerbread dolls left on the plate in this photograph, and by the end of the day they were all gone. They certainly went down well! Guy, Eric and Ali all loved their personalised biscuits and Ciara has hers to look forward to tomorrow.
I wrote out 'it's a small world' in several languages on little cards and placed them on the table to add some festivity for the 50th anniversary of the whimsical ride.
My gingerbread and Eneida's Brazilian chocolate truffle-like treats were the first dishes on the table, but it quickly filled up with all kinds of world food such as Alan's delicious Spanish omelette, Maria's Mexican mole poblano (a chicken dish with chocolate and chilli sauce), Berenice's more-ish Brazilian coxinhas (a chicken salsa served with tortillas), key lime pie, Oreo cheesecake, cookies, chocolate brownies and Judy's cake which was covered in an icing globe with icing small world dolls at every corner.
Unfortunately there were many dishes that I couldn't eat as they contained chocolate, but the ones I did eat were delicious. I think I may ask they guys to recreate some of their treats for me after Lent!
After work I came home for tea with Luke and he cooked us salmon with fries and sweetcorn.
Today I am grateful to the cast members for their generous hearts and purse strings as so far we have raised over €70 from this bake sale for UNICEF.
