Bald Willie.
Despite foul weather, tho' the morning was quite nice, drove to a ranger-led beach tidying 'Bag the Bruck' event. My Ordnance Survey map doesn't give the site a name, although a nearby skerry enjoys the nomenclature in the title. Fortunately my copy of 'Naggles o' Piapittem' refers to the beach as 'North Mill Geo'. It is a boulder beach that is much prettier than it sounds. Many of the rounded rocks are patterned, as in this example.
The beach was quite tidy really, apart from a lot of wood. It was clearly quite a popular bonfire site. After filling only two or three sacks, we had a look into the neighbouring 'South Mill Geo', but access looked a bit scary. With rain turning to bullet hail, we called it a day.
'Bag the Bruck' runs to the 20th of the month, so plenty of time still to tidy the island up a bit before the summer season starts.
