Deer

Outside the window,
You look quizzically in.
I gaze, spellbound, out.
I can never know your thoughts,
Mine are of no consequence.

Mark called me through to see this and another deer outside the window ..... we quite often get them in the garden but rarely this close to the house. I'm not sure if the deer could see me through the glass, but he could obviously sense something as he stood and stared like this for a while ... I stared back mesmerised and took photo's ... I wanted to get closer to the glass to get a clearer shot, but didn't dare risk frightening them away ... in the end they got fed up and wandered off .... ... no doubt to eat more of our plants ...
