Half Light

These discarded poinsetta leaves on the steps of the church were the brightest spot of colour in a day where the street lights stayed lit at midday, the light was so dim.

One thing about darkness is that any brightness takes on an intensity and allure that would be lost otherwise.

There were other bright spots in my day:
- a surprise Blackberry photo from Mexico City - it's warm and sunny there and we are so instantly connected through technology!
- seeing a man feeding the squirrels peanuts on his way to work - he whistles, they come
- wandering around, feeling the excitement and bustle of the season, I love Christmas lights!
