Leanachan Logs

It’s back to Lochaber rain after a week of Aviemore sunshine.
Our holiday house was very comfortable and in a good location to give Caley walks straight from the door but the wifi, which is top of the tick boxes when doing a search for a cottage, was non existent at times. There was nothing for the first two days and the signal would disappear for hours at a time. While we managed a blip for each day away the order in which I uploaded them after internet outage meant that very few people saw, what was my favourite picture, for the week.
Without sounding like devaluing the importance of a blip I missed (or at least delayed responding to) a few key emails about work too. Discussions with the proprietor were largely unproductive and the lady seemed to be pointing blame at a new internet service provider. It was inconvenient hassle rather than a deadly serious issue. (The point I did make was that the next guests may be less complaint when faced with internet darkness.)
I am guilty of infrequent blip comments and replies anyway and it would have been nice to have spent some holiday time catching up with other folk out there.
Just to be clear we had a great break in a beautiful part of Scotland.
I have reviewed our brief for our first project back at work, checked that all the batteries are charged and the car loaded with everything that is needed.

This morning M and I had a damp walk at Leanachan. Normally you arrive at the track end, do a 5 or 6 mile circuit and see no one. Today a local cycling club had an event on. There were several cars and vans parked at Leanachan and folk were “prepping” their bikes. We had a brief chat with one of them and were able to quickly conclude that with our intended route and time we were unlikely to cross paths with anyone.
On our inward loop we passed this heap of logs which always catches my eye.
