Canal Head Pocklington
Hull City won!!!!
Lovely walk for dogs along the towpath of the Pocklinton canal. The canal is 9.5 miles long and stretches from Pocklington to the river Derwent at East Cottingworth. It was built in 1818 and enjoyed brief success until the railways took over.
Today about half of the waterway is navigable and the towpath is in good condition for the whole length. The 4 road bridges and 9 locks are all heritage sites and are Grade ll listed. History lesson over and Hull City won, oh did I mention this!
