Fred

I went down to the river this afternoon to check water levels as I'm anxious to get the kayak out soon. Fred had been baking in the sun for hours while fishing and we had a great conversation. He's a former long-haul trucker from Wyoming. Four years ago, at the age of 56, Fred had a heart attack that forced him to retire. He now lives in Oregon because he has better access to the type of health care he needs. Fred told me some of the wildest trucker stories and we laughed so loud our voices echoed off the water. I have a definite soft spot for truckers who can tell a story.
