My first cat blip! (sort of)

A visit to the Highland Wildlife Park made it difficult to choose a Blip for today but having had the privilege of seeing one of these beautiful creatures in the wild once, it had to be Felis silvestris grampia. There was a catwalk running around the enclosures so that cats were running about over our heads!

It was quite a few years ago but I was out riding my mountain bike on a mountain bike trail. I was not quite out of the treeline yet when I glanced across and saw a cat face pushing out of the pines. I stopped as I was so surprised to see a kitty cat up there. Then its huge thick stripy body on huge thick stripy legs appeared and I felt my legs turning to jelly! "It is the Beast of Ben A!" I thought (there had been tales of a huge cat in the area). Then as it fully emerged and started to spring across the heather, I saw its huge thick ringed tail and realised it was a wildcat.

Will never forget that moment!
