Flight of Fancy!

Last year Juliet helped Dylan and Mylah raise some Emperor moth caterpillars the same time as I had mine. Two days ago this beautiful Female was the first to hatch from her raccoon (as Dylan assured me they were called!!)
Today we decided to take her to our local forest (which has an area of heathland) to let her go free.
Mylah and Dylan had christened her 'Fancy' (hence my title) and today's picture is Fancy warming up her wings on Mylah's finger ready for her maiden flight to freedom!!! We took her to a quiet path off the beaten track and she flew off into a bush to hopefully attract herself a mate.
It is always lovely to release things back into the wild, especially when the children can help too
