Titanic
During an outing to Hastings a couple of days ago we visited the RNLI museum.
Keen to support the service, we spent some money in the gift shop. One of the items was a 3d puzzle of the Titanic. It was actually pretty good and provided an hour or two of educational entertainment.
Hopefully our replica will stay intact rather longer than the original.
The pack came with good instructions and some fascinating historical facts. Some were almost unbelievable. For instance, despite the crew being given numerous warnings about icebergs on the intended route, the lookouts did not have any binoculars because they'd been mislaid before the ship left Southampton.
Purely by coincidence, I took this picture the day after we built the model and the day before the anniversary of the great ship striking the iceberg.
