Ready and waiting...
I've just finished loading the first glaze kiln here at Big Hill Pottery........
these are some of the pots sitting, on the lovely new ware rack shelving Terry built, waiting to be put into the kiln.
It's been a few months in the making of the studio, and it's been so much fun documenting it, and so wonderful to have received all the great encouraging comments during the whole process.....so here we are, finally at the beginning of the first kiln load.
Why are Firsts so important!!! but they are, aren't they.... such strong indicators of life as we move thro this journey! We all keep a mental list of our 'firsts'.....
first kiss.....some nameless guy at a party in edinburgh, i'm sure i was very drunk!
first love.....well, i'll leave that one for later perhaps!!!
first broken heart.....not long after the 'first love' :(
first car.....Honda Civic.....it's name was Homer, cos it was such an epic car!
first job......secretary to a terrible man in a kilt, on Atholl Crescent, Edinburgh... he was always so displeased with my tardy timekeeping!!!
first big move.....Immigrated to Canada when i was 23 - and so nieve!
first home......Hamilton, Ontario.....a huge old red brick house, very narrow but with almost 4 levels (if you include the basement) - i loved that house!
first pottery studio.....the basement of the very narrow brick house in Hamilton!
first child......well....i got 2 at once, Morgan and Bronwyn....the best FIRST!!!
first show...... Festival of Friends in Hamilton.....i sold lots i seem to remember!
ok....i think that'll do for now....
oh and i almost forgot...
first blip the start of a great relationship
Stay tuned for what i'm hoping will be a successful firing! There's always some anxiety cos you just never know what might happen!
