We've come over all Starry at Craigwell Cottage!

Today was the day for our annual VisitScotland grading visit. We work hard all year to make sure all our guests have the same high standard of accommodation and presentation to expect when they arrive.

So it was lovely to be recognised once again with a 4-star award at our little cottage.

I can walk from there to John Lewis in Edinburgh in 10 minutes, but it took a few minutes longer today as I kept stopping to take photos and answer Twitter messages.

On the way past the windows of Harvey Nicholls in St Andrews Square I stopped to inspect their window displays as they're usually quite spectacular.

Chose this one as I was feeling that Stars were the theme of the day - a few more than four in this picture. The bottle of Bombay Sapphire would make a nice stocking filler (and may be slightly more palatable than the Quince Gin which my other half is concocting at the moment).
