A Collection of the Occasional Papers . . . .

Published in 1718 this volume of Occasional papers was printed in London for the following ;
J. Knapton, at the Crown in St Paul's Churchyard; Em. Matthews, at the Bible in Pater - Noster - Row; J. Roberts, in Warwick - lane; J. Harrison under the Royal-Exchange; and A .Dodd, without Temple - Bar.
And so, via a second hand Bookshop it now rests in a bookcase in Kirkcaldy where it is dipped into on occasion when the mood takes me. What it reveals is that Man's serious interests have not altered much in coming on for three hundred years. This volume would have been treasured in 1718 as a source of information and discussion; today Google supplies a similar service and no doubt if we take the time we are as well rewarded.
PS--The Spectacles belonged to my Grandfather.
