Cramond Causeway

This is one of my favourite locations around edinburgh to photograph, primarily because it needs patience to get the right conditions. The tide needs to be low at the time of sunset, the usual covering of grey cloud needs to have made way for the odd cloud in the sky and ideally the wind will be going fast enough to blow the clouds that are in the sky so that you can the racing cloud effect. Two out of three ain't bad I guess!

I also came here as the weekly blip challenge theme is BLOCK and these are most definitely large blocks of concrete built along the causeway as a submarine defence in the second world war. Always good to have a marker down on the first day of the week for a challenge theme.
