Friendship
This is my alessi fruit bowl that my friends brought for me when they came to my shaad in 2006.
Today was back to work, it was good to see my work friends and clients but I missed my girls too. Feeling totally drained after work, collecting Indy and Heidi, bathing and getting them to bed and sorting dinner, I dashed off to an appointment in my friends basement salon. Despite inflicting vast amounts of pain (waxing) Alison is so cheery and chatty my happy-o-meter was given a much needed boost. Just as I pulled up at home I bumped into Carole with her husband and some friends after dinner out. It was really good to have a quick catch up and her friend was very interested in the electric car. I went into the house fully recharged. I faffed around outside for about an hour taking photos of the moonlight but they were all annoyingly hopeless pictures and I am not feeling patient. I have wanted to photograph this for ages but cannot think how to do it, I'm going to try a few different ways when I receive the required divine inspiration.
A shaad is a ceremony that you have late on in your pregnancy, it's all about cheering up a fat waddling fed up mother to be. A happy mummy has a happy baby growing inside! It is not a baby shower, if anyone brings a present is to do with food. My very thoughtful friend Annie knew I would absolutely covet this fruit bowl and arranged its joint buying from my vet school friends. They brought it filled with apples, my favourite fruit and had a good laugh at my sari covered whale-like form!
