Im A Lazy Sod

Day 3 of 3 of my Wednesdays off. So a lie in was the way to start the day. Stayed up late watching some good environmental programmes on the telly so that was a good excuse.

June 2006 I got myself a round the world ticket and I started in Tanzania via a quick overnight stopover in South Africa. Whilst visiting various countries my plan was to get a beer Tshirt from every country I was in as a wee reminder of my travels and I thought I would sample some of the beer as well!

I did travel past Kilimanjaro a couple of times on the bus to Arusha, but it was always cloudy from ground level so I could just make out the base. Fortunately, though after doing a bit of Safari I flew out of Arusha down to Dar and onto Mafia in one of the little 12 seaters and we managed to catch a perfect view of the top of Kilimanjaro as we had climbed above the cloud level. Unfortunately, for me my camera had lost its charge by then and all I have left is a vague mental photo. I am sure I will go back at some stage and will have the foresight to charge the camera for the next time or even better I might climb it, if Chris Moyles can do it then anybody can!
