Scott's View
After a few hours in the office I left to collect my mother from North Berwick. Today is her birthday. I won't divulge her age but she was born on the day Canada issued a new small cent coin! And that pre- dated the Wall Street crash. She is in remarkable form but would prefer not to have a close up of her posted.
A drive to Melrose for lunch was followed by a visit to this sot, favoured by Sir Walter Scott, overlooking the Tweed valley and the Eildon hills.
Then on to Galashiels for some shopping, a visit to Selkirk, Kelso for a cup of tea then back through the countryside. A 200 mile round trip in glorious weather. Lambs gambolling, pheasants iridescent in the sunshine, oilseed rape turning the landscape yellow in prime colour contrast to the sky.
Tomorrow will not be so scenic!
