Rhododendron roxieanum var. oreonastes

Species rhododendrons have a fair amount of variability, not only in the color or markings of the flowers, but also in the size and shape of the leaves. This particular variety has seedlings with some of the narrowest leaves found in the great world of rhododendrons. This is a small, slow growing plant with needle like leaves, about three to four inches long, with brown indumentum (translation: fuzzy undersides) and very round trusses of white flowers with delicate pink markings.
