Jostling for position

I spotted these pigeons lined up on a branch over the River Crane and watched them jostle for position for a while.

They look nicer if you imagine that they're Kingfishers!

I had just come back from getting a new inhaler. My peak flow reading was better with a cold on my chest than a reading from about 6 years ago, when I didn't have a cold, but didn't run much. I used to find that the staff at my GPs surgery thought that running was bad for asthmatics, so I always had to point out that Paula Radcliffe has asthma, but that didn't stop her setting a world record... Thankfully times have changed and I no longer have to persuade the nurse that running makes my asthma better...
