Chester Cathedral At Heights Tour

Spent a good hour on the new At Heights tour at Chester cathedral - an amazing experience that I can recommend - but you have to be fit (ish) be prepared to squeeze through some narrow gaps and small chambers!

Its well worth it - you learn a lot and see some amazing views..

This is taken looking down to the choir stalls. You can see if you look at the roof how its offset - they are not sure if this is due to ground movement over the last 900 or so years, or if it was that the later addition did not quite match up as it would with todays building techniques.

Had loads of photos to choose from, including some from the roof, at over 125 ft up the main tower. You can see five counties on a clear day - it was a bit hazy today, but still excellent - especially when the Beluga transporter plane made an approach to collect cargo at the local Airbus factory! Great timing as we had just got on to the roof, and were able to follow it from about two miles out right to touchdown at the factory at Broughton.

All in all, a trip I can recommend, and one I will do again in the near future!
