The Devil's Staircase

Revisiting the past - and certainly not past glories! By the side of the Lagan, half way around Lagan Meadows lie these reasonably unassuming steps. A first 'sprint' up them lulls you into thinking they are easy, but pushing yourself through two or more repetitions, you realise just why they received their nickname. Those horrible sensations of shaky legs and a queasiness from the pit of your stomach were there again, just like it was very Thursday afternoon in the mid-90s! Sorts the men from the boys. Thanks Smelly. And to think I used to piggy-back Ian up these things...
