The Church of St Mary and St Finnan, Glenfinnan
Had a lovely day in Glenfinnan, we "did" the viaduct, the monument and church and had a lovely leisurely lunch at the Glenfinnan House Hotel looking over Loch Shiel to the monument.
This is the church of St Mary and St Finnan which sits just above the shores of Loch Shiel. It was designed by Edward Welby Pugin (eldest son of Augustus Pugin) and built in 1837. The church is currently being restored and they have already raised £200,000 of the £300,000 target to finish all of the work that is required.
It's a stunning setting and the church has a real serenity inside, will definitely be going back once all the restoration work is complete :-)
