Spring Day

Today has been distinctly warm, with cloudless blue skies.

We decided to have a wander in Stratfield Brake, a place belonging to the Woodland Trust that I have described on these pages previously (1 Oct 2011 and 28 Sept 2011, for example).

This fine fritillary was growing in the grass near the lake. Here is the fritillary seen from a different angle.

There were several groups of ]cowslips making a good show[/b], and there was much blossom in the hedgerows.

We even found wild and fierce fauna at large near where we started our walk.

We can begin to remember what summer is like after a day like this!!!
