Toy Story
Many years ago today, on what was a warm Good Friday our eldest son was born in Kingston Hospital. We were 24 and 25 (the same age as our youngest son). My husband still remembers returning from the hospital in the early hours of that Good Friday to see a pet rabbit hopping along the main road. It was returned to its relieved young owner and we felt pleased that our own Easter baby had been safely delivered. It was therefore fitting that today we were shopping for our 2 year old grand-daughter's birthday which is also in April. We had been delighted with our find of a wonderful large Georgian dolls house, equipped with bags of furniture in a charity shop.. Despite its large price tag it needs quite a bit of renovating so we headed to a Dolls" House shop in Sussex to buy all the necessary bits and pieces. It amazes me that small specialised places such as this are able to survive but it was clear that most of its patrons were adults rather than children. To be truthful, it is going to be many years before Amelia has any real enjoyment from this house and, in the meantime, I am watching a very absorbed grandfather papering the roof, and measuring the interior for wallpaper.
