"Old Tollbooth, Edinburgh"
Spent the day in Edinburgh. Got the train in from Drem as were staying at Craigielaw. Spent a couple of hours looking around the National Museum then walked down to Holyrood Palace passing the Tollbooth. Over the years it served a variety of purposes such as housing the Burgh Council, early meetings of the Estates of Scotland and the Court of Session. The Tolbooth was also the burgh's main gaol where public execution and torture were routinely conducted. Back to the Station and dined out in North Berwick but wasn't very good. Heading back west tomorrow.
