Moonlight on the River Bank...
We all know how it is.
Some days, we have to scratch around in the dreary miserable rain for a Blip. Then, or should I say, now, not only do we have a new luscious and vibrant Spring, but glorious sunshine. And a new lens. And, still, clear nights of full moon and stars...
So many potential Blips, but I worked out that we should get a day or two more days of sunshine, Spring will continue to Spring, at least for a week or two but with cloud moving in by this time tomorrow, the moon and clear night just had to tip the balance in its favour.
So, back on the river bank and I just couldn't resist this. All the elements seem to gel - the full-frame fisheye effect isn't too pronounced, the wonderful arcing of the branch, so sharply defined by this great, cheap new Samyang lens and the moon, striking as a sort of moon-burst! But my favourite bit is the way the normally upright reeds at the left have curled over, to echo and balance the reflection of the trees. Yes, I do like this.
Worth trying LARGE - to see the stars.
The moonlight, which as I've said before, is just reflected sunlight, creates the natural greens of the path. Unlike the fisheye similar of two days ago, this hasn't required too much editing work. I did crop both ends, to tidy up the composition and open some of the shadows but overall this is much more natural and balanced.
