The green budgie
Mum is going away tomorrow so today she brought her green budgie over for me to look after. She had mentioned that budgie occasionally picked her feathers but I thought she meant that she preened herself but I was shocked to see her. She had plucked not preened herself. The poor wee thing had no feathers from where her wings join down to her legs. I decided to take her to the vet.
The vet thought nutrionally she was fine and pointed out that she was trying to grow feathers. He said he thought stress was the cause.
So with that i went to a pet shop to get a few things but they didn't have what I needed so i then went to animates they had the stop pluck spray, it's a kind of bitter taste type spray to stop her pulling her feathers out.
Later on i was looking at her cage and I was frustrated i felt it was too big for her (she's only tiny) it was also rusty along with her toys, it was all at least 10 years old. I didn't feel like it was a safe healthy place for her. So I went and got a cage the same as ours. A lot smaller cage better suited for her, i also got her some new toys and perches.
I'm hoping that while she's here she'll recover a little.
Andre came home sick he's been losing his voice a bit and his throat is sore.
Poor harper was tired going from place to place. I snapped this of him with his toy in his mouth.
