Unintended Consequence

We had another Michigan spring dusting overnight. I took this daybreak shot in our front yard, concentrating only on the speck of sun peeking through the trees. I did not even intend to capture the reflection of the scene in the fresh snow.

Pure snow. Pure luck.

Creativity and good-quality photos depend on the photographer being able to see things differently, rather than seeing only one part of a larger whole. But, every once in while, EVEN when you are looking only at some straightforward, humdrum thing ...you get surprised by what comes out....something richer or more abstract.
