Tokyo - Day 4
Well ... Blipfoto gave me a lovely present for my birthday yesterday ... I got to Spotlight ... or should I thank three of my faithful followers for that honour?! In any case, thank you to everybody who got me to Spotlight on my special day. Really appreciate it.
Another full on day today, which involved lots and lots of walking, as much as the last few days only this time we got back to the hotel earlier than the last days.
Went to Korakuen Gardens today to appreciate some more peace and tranquility in the midst of the busy city. Then on to Asakusa to visit the famous Sensoji Temple. It was so touristy there, lots of souvenir shops and wares to buy. Really enjoyed browsing through the shops and taking loads of pics.
Took this pic of the rickshaw driver and his passengers as they passed by as I did not get permission to blip them, even though I got their faces! And I thought I'd make it oldy-worldy and use a b/w filter. What do you'll think. There were so many nice pics to choose from, but Martin and I agreed that this would be good. He really wanted me to blip pink blossoms ... but in the end the decision was unanimous to blip the rickshaw.
We then went up to the newly built SkyTree up to 350m at the viewing deck. There was another deck up higher, but we were okay with just 350m!
Back to our part of town on a river boat taking in the buildings along the way. We met Martin's DOF here for a meal and I had sting ray for the first time. Not a fan, but I did oblige and have at least one piece. I sure was adventurous.
Anyway, this was our last full day. I hear the boys are still alive and the house is in one piece, yay! What fun when they grow up and can look after themselves. Really proud of them.
