Beauty is all around us.

The Queen's visit to Blackburn Cathedral.

It was very exciting getting up early and travelling by the 9.24 am train from Rishton to Blackburn, to wait for the Queen to come to the Cathedral for a special Maundy Service.
Her Majesty used the Clitheroe line to travel on the royal train and arrived at Blackburn railway station to welcoming crowds just after 10;45 am.
The streets were teaming with fluroscent clad police and a helicopter was hovering overhead. There were Mothers with babies in prams and dogs on people's shoulders, as well as little children being lifted to see better.
Most people had a camera or ipod.
The free lance camera man next to me said he had been there at 6 am.
I chatted to a local man who enjoyed coming to many royal visits over the years and he had stood in a soggy, rain drenched Witton Park a few years ago, for the visit of Prince William and Kate Middleton before they were married.
So I only managed a distant view of the Queen getting into the beautiful royal car with Prince Phillip. Her cerise outfit looked immaculate and very regal.
My daughter got a much better photo as the car drove along.
I created the collage as a souvenir of the spirit of the crowd on this happy but very cold windy morning. The photo of the Queen arriving is the central one.
Have a great Easter weekend blipper friends.
