Sad cowslips

Visited my parents this afternoon to cut some Hazel twigs for my Easter church flower arrangement. Mum cut me some cowslips from the garden, they were beautiful - tall and slender and I brought them home to place in my visitors room. However I put them on my car roof as I put the greenery in a bucket of water and raced down to the house to dump my stuff before dashing out to my next appointment. When I arrived at my destination I suddenly remembered the Cowslips. Back home Mr H had rescued them from the driveway. I put them in water. I don't think they'll recover.
