Shipwreck
On the way home this evening stopped off at Bowling Harbour on the River Clyde. The Harbour became a shipbuilding and repair centre from around 1790. But the decline of shipbuilding from the mid-20th century onward turned the tide on the basin, effectively transforming it into a ship graveyard. Some say an eyesore but also an important historical record.
Once a much larger collection of shipwrecks lay in the harbour, but today there are still a number of impressive skeletons of ships lying in the basin.
