New Shoes

I don't buy new clothes very often. I buy new shoes even less often. But I had some time to kill a couple of weeks ago and wandered into a clothes shop. I didn't see any clothes I was interested in but I did see a pair of shoes I liked and I tried them on. They fitted but, because I'm not really interested in 'fashion', I didn't buy them, and then regretted it.

So about a week ago I went back to buy them. They had sold out. They told me that it's unlikely they'll be getting any more in; they had already had their 'summer stock'. How can that be? How can a clothes shop have sold out of one of it summer lines before Easter? I was so disappointed. Having made up my mind to buy the things I was rather cross that I'd been denied them.

Then my youngest son went shopping in the same shop for clothes for a job interview and came home with a £5.00 off voucher if you shopped online. So I placed my order, awaited delivery and am now the proud owner of the shoes.

And my son got the job.
