Hurst Reservoir update
This is a view of the Hurst Reservoir area in Glossop from the Snake Pass lay-by.
The reshaping of the former reservoir bed is now well underway and the creation of a pond is part of the project. I was expecting the pond to be a little bigger if its to be any use for wildlife or indeed the stated other reason a resource for firefighters in the case of moorland fires.
The patchwork on the moors has been created by the cutting of heather for use as brash in the moorland restoration projects to aid in the prevention of further peat loss
