Clematis

Last year this fledgling clematis suffered extreme assault at the hands of a mower (under the control of son) and puppies chewing. Against the odds it would seem that it has survived and is celebrating this by flowering this year.

A couple of years ago I helped a local friend who was having difficulties with his computer. As a thank you (he remembered how I’d admired a clematis that his wife had growing within an apple tree in his garden) he bought me one. I too have planted it at the base of an apple tree and hope after a chequered start will also find its way into the canopy and be a real show in years to come.
