Rainy Day Duckling

The ducklings have hatched at the small pond at work. It's surrounded by tall reeds and rushes so they have plenty of places to hide when the students come by on their way to class. Today's too much of a good thing was the rain, which was coming down all day. This little one and his fellow siblings were cruising around the pond, closely monitored by mom, with no care at all for the downpour.

Update on our new addition: Roxy had a check up and surgery today to remove several bad teeth. Our wonderful vet gave us a 50% discount on the surgery since, he said, she was a neglected dog that we had taken in. She's about 8 years old and has other minor issues but nothing catastrophic. She's resting up right now, with Frankie by her side. :)
